What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him? Deuteronomy 4:7
“This, then, is how you should pray: ” ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ Matthew 6:9-13
The desire of drawing near to God in prayer.
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. Psalm 42:1
For day after day they seek me out; they seem eager to know my ways, as if they were a nation that does what is right and has not forsaken the commands of its God. They ask me for just decisions and seem eager for God to come near them. Isaiah 58:2
She obeys no one, she accepts no correction. She does not trust in the LORD, she does not draw near to her God. Zephaniah 3:2
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:8
The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18
The desirability of drawing near to God in prayer.
Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Isaiah 55:6
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?” Matthew 7:7-9
