Happiness vs Joy and are they the same?

Webster defines joy as:

A feeling of great happiness or pleasure. It can also refer to the emotion of great delight caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying. In essence, joy is a state of happiness.

Webster defines happiness as:

A state of well-being and contentment: joy
A pleasurable or satisfying experience

1 Peter 1:8–9
Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
